The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the registration period for the 2025 UTME and DE exams, which will run from January 14th to February 14th, 2025. In this guide, we will walk you through the registration process and provide important information to ensure a seamless experience.

Financial Institutions

It’s important to note that only financial institutions registered with JAMB will be allowed to vend e-PINs. To avoid any issues with your registration, be sure to purchase your e-PIN from an authorized vendor.

Registration Process

To register for the UTME or DE exams, the first step is to obtain your National Identification Number (NIN). This is the gateway to the registration process. You will create a profile by sending your NIN, followed by a space, and then your eleven-digit NIN number to 55019 or 66019.

You will then receive a 10-digit profile code and your registered name with NIMC, which you must present at the point of procurement of e-PINs (Banks, USSD, sales outlets, vendors, etc.). Your e-PIN will be sent to you via text message after the payment of all necessary fees. You will present the e-PIN at any JAMB-accredited CBT center for registration.

To prevent warehousing and extortion of candidates, all transactions at the CBT centers will be cashless. Payments to centers will be collected by the Board and remitted to the centers on a weekly basis. You have the option of paying through Banks, Mobile Money Operators, and online payment on the JAMB portal through Remita/Interswitch, among others.

Mock UTME

In the past, payment for Mock-UTME was made on the day of the exam. However, it was observed that many candidates who indicated an interest in sitting for the mock exam ended up not showing up, resulting in a waste of resources. To avoid this, JAMB has imposed a fee of N1000 for candidates interested in taking the Mock-UTME, to ensure commitment.

Warning Against Extortion

The JAMB Registrar has warned financial institutions participating in the sale of application documents against extortion of candidates. Vendors are also advised to be upright in their dealings with aspiring UTME/DE candidates to avoid running foul of JAMB’s rules of engagement. Financial institutions will be held accountable for the actions of their sub-agents and must ensure that only credible staff are employed to manage their operations.
